Being involved in Palestine solidarity activism on campus at Ohio State was one of the ways Andrea and Ben got to know each other in college. While Israeli violence against the Palestinian people has escalated dramatically since October 7, 2023, this violence is a continuation of the oppression and ethnic cleansing of Palestine carried out by Israel since 1948.
Palestinian liberation is a cause that is very important to both of us. To honor our marriage, please prioritize giving to Palestinian refugees fleeing from Gaza, where the apartheid state of Israel is committing a genocide against the Palestinian people paid for by U.S. tax dollars. You may choose to donate to our fundaraiser for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, which provides vital resources like food, water, bedding, and hygiene supplies for Palestinian refugees. Or, if you would prefer to contribute to mutual aid, you may choose to donate to a fundraiser organized by Andrea's friend from Ohio State Sonia Rayka, who is raising money to help the family of her pen pal, a young mother in Gaza named Asala, evacuate her family.
